Sitting in a diner, gazing out the window, Sipping on burnt black coffee, feeling mellow, The cold drizzly night, a comforting sight, As thoughts of next steps, fill my mind tonight. Life's journey, where is it taking me? Uncertainties ahead, what will I see? But for now, in this cozy little spot, I can sit and ponder, without a single thought. The clatter of dishes, the hum of conversation, A background score, to my introspection, The neon lights, shining bright outside, Adding a glow, to my moment of insight. With each sip of coffee, bitter and strong, My mind clears up, as if singing a song, I look out the window, at the city lights, And I'm reminded, of life's endless heights. For in this moment, I am content, In the diner, where time seems bent, As I ponder next steps, and where life's taking me, I realize, it's not the destination, but the journey.
