Expression through song…

I wish I had the gift of song or the production aspect of music.

I’m sitting here watching Sam Smith: Love Goes – Live at Abbey Roads Studio on Netflix, and I’m just in awe that he can express his life through music. It’s beautiful to listen to music that tells of one’s journey, shares a lesson, or something that resonates within each of us.

It’s not just Sam’s music; I find it with many artists and musicians– Adele, Gaga, Swift, Franklin, Lauper, Bowie, Petty, Berry, Marley, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, to name a few.

Music is transformational. It invites us to recall a memory or an experience that we link to a specific song and takes us back, allowing us to ignite a time in our life that may have been easier or a milestone moment for us.

For me, music will always be present. I will always have music playing in my ear, on the speaker, or in the room. The soundtrack of my life is complex, rich, and robust. I’ll continue to groove in my unique way.
